Choosing Faith- Not Fear

With each new headline that talks about a US citizen that has been detained simply because of their surname, families torn apart and devastated by an administration that simply appears not to care, I become disheartened. I no longer look to politician’s or political polls for solutions. Cruelty, dishonesty, and lawlessness seem to be a new norm, the media doesn’t even address what’s going on. The discourse brings no review or retribution for those who use their power to dismantle our democracy, literally and figuratively, with disregard for human life and cost. I continue using what skills I have to support those that are most under attack or scrutiny, in my community, and provide them support. This is my small corner of resistance. I am practicing faith, faith in my family, faith in humanity, in the now. Helen Keller said, “Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light”
